On 17 March 2025, the All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) launched the Ahmedabad Case Station for Avoidable Deaths due to Extreme Heat (ACaSA) to address the rising risks of extreme heat in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
The launch of ACaSA marked a major step in creating a heat-resilient Ahmedabad, driven by community action, government support, and data-informed decision-making. With ACaSA, AIDMI aims to prevent avoidable deaths and build a safer future for all residents in the face of climate change.
