We are dedicated to a vital mission: ensuring that disaster deaths are no longer seen as inevitable. Our impact is multifaceted, bridging the gap between academic research and life-saving action on the ground.
OUR GLOBAL FOOTPRINT
This page showcases some of the tangible outcomes of our work through the voices of those driving change:
We nurture the next generation of disaster and health risk reduction (DRR) experts. Through our testimonials, you can see how our Future Leaders are applying specialised knowledge to save lives in their local communities.
2. Supported Projects and Promotions
Our impact is amplified by a global network of institutional partners. These collaborations have been a cornerstone of our success, resulting in significant outreach, grant capture and the implementation of evidence-based interventions in our target regions.

Beyond long-term resilience, we have raised funds for rapid direct disaster response to mitigate the loss of life during active crises and support recovery.
4. Catalysing Change
From pioneering the International Awareness Day for Avoidable Deaths (12 March) to conducting critical research, capacity building and outreach activities on snakebites, tsunami deaths, maternal deaths and drowning in high and low- and middle-income countries, our impact is defined by our commitment to the Sendai Framework’s goal of reducing global mortality and the number of people affected by disasters.
