The ADN Regional Coordinator (RC) role is a voluntary commitment for a two year period. The responsibilities of the RC are currently flexible and takes into consideration the individual’s expertise, capacity, and region. There are two types of responsibilities: Compulsory and Optional.

Regional Coordinators (Current)

Dr. Azukaego Nnaji (Nigeria)

Azukaego is a crises and disaster management/ public health research specialist with extensive experience spanning almost two decades, across several public health developmental areas. Her experience spans Capacity building, Programme design, analysis, and implementation, as well as quantitative and qualitative health services research, which has seen her plan and implement various forms of surveys across Nigeria and within the West African sub-region.


Dr. Fatima Akter (Bangladesh)

Dr. Fatima Akter is currently serving as Associate Professor at the Department of Meteorology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Earlier she worked as Assistant Professor and Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Environment of University of Dhaka from (2014-2021).

 


Dr. Inshah Malik (Georgia)
Dr. Inshah Malik is an Associate Professor of Politics at the School of Politics and Diplomacy of New Vision University. Tbilisi Georgia. She is a former Fox International Fellow at Yale University, United States. She is also a Chair of the Standing Group on Critical Peace and Conflict Studies at the European Consortium of Political Science Research (ECPR). She is also a member of the European Consortium of Gender and Politics.

 


Mr. Snehendu Koner (india)

Mr. Snehendu is the Head of Business Development and Strategy at CliniMed LifeSciences in India. Mr Koner established the LNJ group’s healthcare BPO regional office in Kolkata. Previously he has worked with Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, Ophirex Inc., Zydus LifeSciences, Hetero Pharmaceuticals, NATCO Pharma – among others. 


Dr. Ranjan Datta Canada0

Canada Research Chair in Community Disaster Research and Assistant Professor at Indigenous Studies, Department of Humanities, Mount Royal University, Calgary. Alberta, Canada.As an international leader in community-led environmental sustainability, his work bridges academic and grassroots efforts in disaster resilience and climate justice.


Mr. Zain Dueheney (Belize)

Experienced Military Officer and expert on National Emergency Management in Belize. He served 14.5 years as a Military Officer within the Belize Defense Force, and worked at the National Emergency Management Organization as the Operations Officer. Zain is a Justice of the Peace, and lectures at Galen University in Belize in the Criminal Justice Program.


Mr. Muhammad Asad Tahir (Pakistan – UK)

A dynamic individual and a self-motivated civil servant with over 25 years of experience in public administration, financial management, tax compliance, monitoring & evaluation/reporting, project management and donors/stakeholders coordination etc;- He is currently enrolled as a PhD researcher with the University of Leicester (UK), focusing on strategic leadership, digital disinformation, and crisis communication in a post-truth environment;


Dr. Nikhil Paul (India)

A skilled emergency physician with an MBBS and MD in Emergency Medicine, specializing in snake bite research and the prevention of venomous bite-related deaths. He has led several public health initiatives, including the Snake Bite First Aid Awareness Programme on IAD4AD in 2024, focusing on first aid education and reducing fatalities from snake bites and scorpion stings.


Dr. Franklin Babila Doh (Cameroon)

Experienced Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarian activist in Cameroon. With a Ph.D. in International Relations from Université E.S. Sorbonne, France, Dr. Doh brings years of experience in disaster risk management, humanitarian assistance, and public-private partnerships. He has led multidisciplinary teams across West and Central Africa, designing strategies to address social, environmental, and economic challenges


Mr. Sameer Kumar Jena (India)

Sameer is a trained demographer with expertise in social change and development, specializing in training, monitoring, evaluation, and public health research. With nearly seven years of experience across diverse sociocultural settings in health, education, and social development, . For the past two years, he has served as an Assistant Professor at the P.G. Department of Population Studies, Fakir Mohan University.


Dr. Grace Bahalen Mundu (India)

an Assistant Professor in the P.G. Department of Population Studies at Fakir Mohan University, Odisha. She earned her Ph.D. in Population Studies from IIPS, Mumbai. She is a published author of numerous articles and books and specializes in marriage dissolution, urban health, and gender studies. 


Ms. Tahira Khan (Pakistan)

Ms.Tahira Khan is a seasoned emergency management professional currently serving as District Emergency Officer in Pakistan. With dual Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Chemistry, she has led disaster response operations, community-based resilience initiatives, and international training programs.

 


Dr. Pukar Gupta

Dr. Pukar Gupta is a dedicated medical graduate from Nepal with a strong clinical foundation and a passion for equitable healthcare. As the Founder of NHAFN, he leads grassroots health projects that tackle issues such as non-communicable diseases (NCDS), Mental Health, and access to emergency care.


Dr. Jean Kayira  (USA)

Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) in Syracuse, New York, USA.Her research interests encompass Indigenous knowledge systems, land-based education, climate adaptation, food justice, community-based research, and decolonizing methodologies

 


Dr. Carlos Primero D. Gundran (The Philippines)

Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Policies and Administration of the College of Public Health, University of the Philippines, Manila. He is also the Convenor for the Health, Emergencies and Disasters (HEAD) Study Group of the National Institutes of Health, UP Manila and the Director of the Institutional Building Division of the University of the Philippines Resilience Institute.


Dr. Arifatul Kibria (Bangladesh)

Dr. Arifatul Kibria, an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Science at American International University-Bangladesh, is an academic researcher specializing in sociology, gender studies, and social structures. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Renmin University of China.

 


Dr. Jebunnessa Chapola  (Canada)

Dr. Jebunnessa  is a Faculty member of Mount Royal University (MRU), Calgary and SSHRC postdoctoral fellow at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Regina. Her research expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of research areas, including environmental reconciliation, transnational feminism, anti-racist theory and practice, and Indigenous women-led climate change solutions.


Dr. Megumi Fujii (Japan)

Dr. Megumi Fujii is an Associate Professor of Disaster Nursing at the Japanese Red Cross Toyota College of Nursing in Japan, and a member of the Young Academy Committee of the Japan Society of Disaster Nursing. Her research focuses on the prevention of disaster-related deaths, with a particular emphasis on disaster preparedness for vulnerable populations in communities.


Mrs. Moza Al Marhoobi (Oman)

Moza Al Marhoobi is a Meteorologist and Tsunami Early Warning System Operator at Oman’s Directorate General of Meteorology.With a BSc in Meteorology from Germany and ongoing MSc studies in Risk, Crisis, and Disaster Management at the University of Leicester, Moza is passionate about reducing avoidable disaster deaths through science-based strategies and international collaboration. 


Dr. Yi-Tzu Lin (Taiwan)

Dr Yi-Tzu Lin is currently an Assistant Professor at the Center for General EducationShe holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Taiwan, National Chi Nan University. Her areas of expertise include disaster prevention education, field surveys, and community disaster prevention. 


Prof. Jie-Ru Chen (Taiwan)

Prof. Jie-Ru Chen is currently a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at National Chi Nan University and also serves as the Dean of the College of Science and Technology. His research expertise includes risk management, foundation engineering, soil behavior and properties, and the analysis and design of geotechnical structures


Ms. Fidan Hasanova (Azerbaijan)

Fidan Hasanova is a multidisciplinary professional with a background in engineering and risk management. She holds an MSc in Risk, crisis and disaster management, multiple MBAs and several bachelor’s degrees. She has contributed to international climate initiatives, including COP29. Her research projects have focused on systems-based approaches to disaster risk reduction and the prevention of avoidable deaths


Ms. Chifundo Katanga (Malawi)

Chifundo Katanga is a Lecturer at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences and a Chartered Accountant. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Management at the University of Leicester. Driven by a deep commitment to preventing avoidable deaths, she completed a Master of Science in Risk, Crisis, and Disaster Management at the University of Leicester. 


Dr. Fariha Haseen (Bangladesh)

Dr. Fariha Haseen is an Associate Professor and Head of the Division of Reproductive and Child Health, and the Director of Centre for Gender and Women’s Health Research, Department of Public Health and Informatics at Bangladesh Medical University. Dr. Haseen mentors’ future leaders through courses on adolescent health, gender, sexual and reproductive health and leadership.


Dr. Madhulika Sahoo (India)

Madhulika Sahoo is a distinguished Anthropologist focused on gender and health. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and as the Director of Student Welfare and Placement at Kalahandi University, Odisha, India.


Dr. Winifried Ekezie (UK)

Winifred holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. As an epidemiologist, Winifred’s interests lie in human displacement, migration, vulnerable populations, health systems, and sustainable interventions. She is an active member of the Health in Internal Displacement Network, contributing to a range of issues in internal displacement settings.


Ms. Patience Andrew (Nigeria)

Patience is a historian, spoken word poet, and radio broadcaster. She founded Custodians of African Literature (COAL), a non-profit organization that promotes African Literature by providing expressive and creative platforms for writers and artists in various communities.


Ms. Racheal Nantume (Uganda)

Racheal Nantume is a civil engineer and disaster risk specialist at Uganda’s Ministry of Works and Transport. With a background in civil engineering and an MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management, she focuses on resilient, inclusive infrastructure and advocates for sustainable urban mobility and evidence-based policy.

 


Mr. Vishal Pathak (India)

With a background in social sciences, Mr. Pathak is affiliated with the All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI). He works across policy support, capacity building, and pilot implementation in disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation. His focus includes anticipatory action, loss and damage, and strengthening resilience for small farmers and businesses


Dr. Te Klangboonkrong (Thailand)

 

Lecturer at the School of Global Studies, Thammasat University. Her current research interests centre on academic entrepreneurship and inclusive entrepreneurship, with a strong focus on disability and institutional theory. She actively engages in UKRI-funded initiatives, supporting the development of low-cost reproductive health kits for disaster‑prone areas in South Asia


Dr. Edris Alam (UAE)

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in Disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation from The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, Dr AlamPublished over 120 research articles in major international journals. He is skilled in sustainable development, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, integrated emergency management, contingency planning and policy analysis.

 


Master Arkoneil Ghosh (India)

Arkoneil Ghosh, currently pursuing his IB Diploma at Oberoi International School, has been playing a crucial role in raising awareness about preventable deaths since 2020.He is the Founding Editor of the Junior Champion Magazine, a member of the Santiago Network and  a Regional Coordinator.
