Ms. Shoka Stonelake

Japanese Art Instructor, Stonelake School

Shoka Stonelake is an artist and educator who finds joy in sharing Japanese arts as a way to connect people across cultures. She is the founder of Stonelake School and has been teaching Etegami (Japanese postcard art) in Portland public schools for many years. Since 2020, she has been an active member of Etegami Tomonokai and is pursuing her teaching certificate from the Japan Etegami Association in Tokyo. Shoka also teaches Shodō (calligraphy) and Sumi-e one-stroke painting, and she hopes her workshops inspire reflection, creativity, and peace in everyday life.
